| Tees Valley to get £62m bus upgrade |

Tees Valley is to benefit from a £62m upgrade to help improve its local bus network, Transport Minister Sadiq Khan announced today.
The scheme, which has received initial government approval, aims to make bus journeys quicker and increase reliability by removing some of the major causes of delays. The funding - £40m of which is coming from the Department for Transport - will improve services on a number of the major bus routes through Darlington, Middlesbrough, Stockton, Redcar and Hartlepool.
The scheme will focus on;
Passenger facilities will also be improved on bus routes in the area including new bus shelters, increased use of CCTV and real time information screens giving expected arrival times.
