The Recycling and Waste Management exhibition (RWM) is back for 2008, running from 16 to 18 September at the Birmingham NEC. With its expanded outdoor area, RWM offers visitors the chance to see the latest vehicles up close and find out about the latest fleet management.
Last year’s event attracted over 450 exhibitors and a staggering 8,000 visitors during its three day run.
Big names to be found at RWM 08 include Isuzu Truck which will be exhibiting from its brand new range of trucks, together with Citroen, Dennis Eagle, Gullivers Municipal, Heil Environmental, Renault Trucks and new exhibitor Vauxhall Motor. Griffith Elder & Co Ltd will be exhibiting portable weighbridges and ROCC Waste RWM’s event manager, Gerry Sherwood, said: “The high proportion of early stand bookings is a strong indication that RWM will be even bigger this year. The enterprising recycling sector continues to grow and we are privileged to be at the centre of it, creating an environment where business can be done.” RWM’s ever expanding outdoor exhibition and demonstration area is open to all visitors and gives them an exclusive opportunity to view recycling and waste management vehicles and machinery up close and in action throughout the three days of RWM.
New exhibitor, Whale Tankers, will be demonstrating water jetting technology which uses recycled water. RWM’s free seminar programme is a hugely successful part of the exhibition, enabling attendees to learn about new legislation from the movers and shakers of the recycling world and to take part in discussions on all the latest issues affecting them. This year’s programme has been split between two separate seminar theatres, making it even easier for people to access the information they want. The local authority seminars will cover issues facing council waste and recycling departments and the contractors and reprocessors they work with. Separately, a business clinic will provide details of successful recycling initiatives in the private sector, together with the latest technologies and solutions. Both seminar programmes will include updates on relevant legislation. Returning this year (and also free!), is the dedicated Talking Climate Change Zone - a specific area where visitors can attend seminars about the subject and speak to companies and organisations exhibiting there. Sessions will include practical information on measuring carbon footprints and how climate change can be addressed through recycling and waste management. Also returning this year is RWM’s dedicated conference where visitors can pay to attend longer strategic sessions on a comprehensive number of subjects and issues surrounding the industry. Registration for RWM 08 is free. To register online go to www.rwminfo.com where you can also sign up for free e-bulletins from RWM online. You will also soon be able to view the popular seminar programmes and book your free places for sessions in advance, and the organisation requests that those with an interest in presenting seminars get in touch. |
